Kerala Travel Mart 2012, held from September 27 to 30 at Le Meridien Convention Centre in Kochi, marked the seventh edition of the iconic B2B tourism fair. The event achieved new milestones with the participation of buyers from over 54 countries and more than 1,300 domestic and international delegates. Around 260 exhibitors from Kerala showcased their tourism products, ranging from boutique resorts and backwater cruises to Ayurveda wellness centers and eco-tourism ventures. KTM 2012 focused on promoting Kerala as a 24×7, 365-day destination, highlighting monsoon packages and new tourism circuits across unexplored regions of the state.
A significant highlight of KTM 2012 was its deeper emphasis on Responsible Tourism and community-based travel experiences. The event aligned with global sustainability goals and Kerala’s ongoing efforts to empower local communities through tourism. Buyers were offered curated travel experiences across various parts of the state to demonstrate Kerala’s natural, cultural, and human richness. With strong government support, excellent organization, and active private-sector involvement, KTM 2012 further solidified its position as India’s premier destination-specific travel mart, setting the tone for innovation and inclusivity in tourism.
